Well, we've finally jumped on the blog-wagon. We have so many fun things going on, so we thought this would be the best way to keep everyone up to date. As of now, we are moving into our home Tuesday, the 30th (one day sooner than expected, wohoo!).
We just bought our fridge. It unfortunately isn't going to arrive until the 11 of July, so we may be living out of a cooler for a couple of weeks, it keeps life exciting. We really wanted this fridge though, it is HUGE, and it was on sale, what better combination can you find? It has been really exciting for us to have the opportunity to buy new things. God has always given us the things we need, it's fun when they come in the original packaging, hahaha.
The kids are doing well, we are trying to keep them occupied, since I packed most of their toys up several months ago. We get really creative sometimes, and spend alot of time at the park, thank goodness the city provides free lunches for kids during the summer! We have also discovered that Isabel has outgrown the child safety locks, thus opening the way (quite literally) for her younger brohers - we are so excited for more space!
Daniel's favorite new thing to do is write with sticks in the dirt (we have really gone back to the basics of play). Luckily at the park there is alot of dirt, and when we're really lucky, mud. We struggle to keep clothes on him, as he prefers staying in the nude after potty breaks. He seems to be doing a little better with expressing himself, and in fact yesterday we were hanging out in the car at auto zone (while Steven was changing the battery), and a guy walked by the car and Daniel shouted at him "Hey, come back here guy!" It was so random and uncharacteristic, we all just started laughing. We have also discovered that Daniel strives for efficiency. Fllowing our trip to Auto Zone we ran to get some pizza (as we had passed dinner time), and had to get some soda to go with it (I think that is an unwritten Steven-law). So he and 2 of the 3 kids ran into Albertsons. When they returned to the car, Daniel standing in the shopping cart says, "Here mom," and then picked up the 2-Liter bottle of root beer and chucked it into the car. He has good aim, but needless to say, it is still sitting in our fridge unopened.
Isabel has become adamit about telling the truth, and not eating sugar (it's all talk). They had found some suckers, and each had several in their hands, then we overhear this conversation
Daniel: "Look Isabel, here's another sucker"
Isabel: "Daniel, I don't want any sugar, and that's sugar!"
I then walk out and see a sucker in each of Isabel's hands (by the way, Daniel was eating one, and Myles had 3). O well, at least she aknowledges the concept.
Our kids have started a new hobby, it's called furniture tipping. It is not uncommon for us to walk into a room and find the furniture tipped onto it's side, with kids dangling all over it. We are considering investing in some cows and turning it into a sport. (Just kidding Art). But really, I think we should invest in some heavier furniture, or maybe just give them more to play with.
Well, I should be done for now, as the kids have just created a picnic with our old 72 hour kit in the hall. Have a great day all!
PS We got our family pictures, I will post some later
